Slam Jam and Carhartt WIP, longstanding friends and partners, join forces to reimagine core pieces that are dirty and cut.

Shot by Giulia and Camilla Venturini, the campaign takes place over a day in the most decadent and familiar Italian northern mid-west. Italian designer Gio Forbice takes the uniform out for a walk, through rural landmarks in the countryside and little town fairs. The photos make explicit the intention behind such pieces: to express Slam Jam’s rebellious attitude. It’s for those who patch things up with duct tape, ride without plates, and find comfort in the broken and the bent.

The pieces are true Carhartt WIP staples: OG Active Jacket, Hooded American Script Jacket, L/S Chase T-Shirt, Single Knee Pant, and Acrylic Watch Hat. Working closely with Tintoria Emiliana, an institution of Italian textile innovation based in Emilia Romagna and Slam Jam’s partner, heritage techniques meet experimental takes in the clothes’ dying and cutting process. The iconic brown is overdyed in black, revealing its true colors through wear. Laser cuts make for a repetitive tear motif across the garments, while logos emerge through faded textiles as rough, black screenprints — ghostlike, almost worn into the fabric.

The collection will be available exclusively at Slam Jam’s flagship store and online from the 29th of April.
